SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION COLLECTION WEB SITES
Every year, Infoscan develops and hosts several interactive, web-based scholarship application web sites for national scholarship programs.
Typically, 50,000 applications are collected, evaluated, and passed on to the sponsoring
organizations for further evaluation and final determination of scholarship winners.
During the process, we handle the necessary tasks and support to allow smooth running for
the sponsor.
Some of the characteristics and tasks involved are as follows:
- A secure, database-driven site for collecting
the applications
- A management site for authorized sponsor individuals
to monitor the daily site activity
- Web pages that perform sensible checks on entered data, enforce
required fields, etc.
- E-mails and/or USPS letters can be sent to all or selected subsets
of the applicants
- Applicants can log back in as often as desired
to modify their applications until the deadline
- Immediate scoring of each application based
on rules provided by the sponsor
- Ranking of the applications and selection
of the top candidates
- Periodic backup of the collected applications
onto separate servers
- Request, collect, and organize backup materials
(transcripts and references) for the "top" candidates
- Provide sponsor with applications and backup
material for their final determination of scholarship winners
- Notification of winners and non-winners
- Provide sponsor with custom reports of data
in the database, selected and sorted as specified
- E-mail and telephone support of web site users
- Applications can be put into the web site
directly or entered into an off-line Adobe Acrobat form and uploaded to the site,
where they then appear on the web pages
- Projects usually run 8 - 12 months and costs
can be spread evenly over that time
